Choose where to start

- To register, Florida asks for PIP and property damage, nothing more
- UM coverage stays on a policy unless you sign it away
- SR-22 and FR-44 filings are handled in the same conversation

Auto Insurance
Standard, preferred and high-risk drivers, including SR-22 filings and FR-44 filings after a DUI. If your record is complicated, the carrier you are shown matters more than any discount. The auto insurance page for Ocala drivers covers what Florida requires and what it leaves out. Motorhomes and travel trailers get their own RV quote that covers the driving and the living space on the same call, and a motorcycle gets a quote built around the injury gap riders carry.

- A roof under 15 cannot be the only reason a company says no
- Collapse coverage comes standard; sinkhole loss costs extra
- A non-renewal letter's reason points to the next companies

Home Insurance
Owner-occupied homes, condos, rentals and homes with older roofs. The home insurance page for Ocala homeowners goes through roof age, sinkhole coverage and what to do with a non-renewal letter. Tenants can get a renters quote for their belongings and their liability, and a boat on Lake Weir or the Withlacoochee gets its own hull and liability quote on the same call. Flood stays outside a homeowners policy, so flood cover for the parcel is quoted as its own line.

- Say the budget out loud and it gets quoted that way

Cheap Car Insurance
Minimum-limit and budget options, explained without a lecture. If the budget is the constraint, say so and it gets quoted that way. The cheap car insurance page for Ocala drivers shows what those limits actually buy.

Talking to an Agent
Some people would rather speak to a person than fill in a form. A business owner chasing a certificate a contractor or landlord asked for can start the same way. Who answers the phone, and what happens after you call, is set out on the agency page.

Six things that move a quote in Ocala
The Florida Geological Survey calls sinkholes a common feature of Florida's landscape. They form where limestone and dolomite bedrock dissolve, so the sinkhole lines of a Marion County policy deserve a close read.
Raise this on your callEvery authorized insurer includes catastrophic ground cover collapse, but it pays only when all four tests are met, down to a government order to vacate the house. Miss one and it does not respond.
Raise this on your callUnder s. 627.706, insurers must offer sinkhole loss coverage for an added premium. It reaches much further than collapse coverage, and it is easy to assume you carry it. Your declarations page settles that.
Raise this on your callWind wording and any hurricane deductible can change from one renewal to the next, in North Central Florida as anywhere. Read them every year, and ask when the language is hard to follow.
Raise this on your callMarion County counted 6,532 crashes and 4,959 injuries in 2024. Florida does not require bodily injury liability to register a car, which is the case for carrying it anyway.
Raise this on your callCitizens moves policies to private companies through depopulation. If a takeout offer arrives and you are eligible to stay, answer by the letter's deadline, or the policy transfers anyway.

Ocala Insurance Details That Change What You Pay and What Pays Out
A few things change what you should buy here, and they are worth understanding before you compare quotes.
Sinkholes and the Two Coverages Behind Them
The Florida Geological Survey describes sinkholes as "a common feature of Florida's landscape." They form where limestone and dolomite bedrock dissolve, a type of terrain known as karst.
Every authorized property insurer in Florida must provide catastrophic ground cover collapse coverage. That sounds broad and is not. It is a four-part test: the ground cover has to collapse abruptly, the depression has to be clearly visible to the naked eye, the covered building including the foundation has to suffer structural damage, and the structure has to be condemned and ordered vacated by the government agency authorized to do so. Miss any one of the four and the coverage does not respond.
Sinkhole loss coverage is the broader one. It is optional, and under s. 627.706, Fla. Stat. insurers must make it available for an additional premium. It is easy to assume you carry it when you do not, and the sinkhole guide sets the two coverages side by side. Send a declarations page and you will get a straight answer about which one you hold.
Roof Age
s. 627.7011, Fla. Stat. limits when an insurer can refuse a homeowner's policy because of roof age. An insurer may not refuse to issue or renew a homeowner's policy solely because of roof age when the roof is under 15 years old. At 15 years or older, the insurer must allow an inspection by an authorized inspector, at your expense, before requiring replacement as a condition of coverage, and if that inspection shows five or more years of useful life remaining, roof age alone cannot be the reason for a refusal. Authorized inspectors include licensed home inspectors, building code inspectors, general, building and residential contractors, roofing contractors, engineers and architects. What to ask when a carrier blames the roof is worth reading before you pay for a new one.
The median owner-occupied home in the county is valued at $243,100 (U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts).
Inland Wind
Wind terms, and any hurricane deductible on the policy, are worth reading at every renewal. If they are hard to follow, that is worth a second opinion rather than a shrug. A wind mitigation report can also change what you pay, and booking it with a 4-point inspection often takes one visit.
Marion County Numbers to Know Before You Choose Your Limits
Two sets of figures are worth knowing before you set limits.
The first is about the roads. Marion County recorded 6,532 crashes in 2024, with 114 deaths and 4,959 injuries (FLHSMV Traffic Crash Facts, 2024 annual report). Statewide, Florida recorded 381,423 crashes and 3,098 deaths that year. Highway crashes at speed are the kind that cause serious injury, and Florida does not require bodily injury liability for standard registration. That is the honest argument for carrying it anyway.
The second is about the houses. There were 205,732 housing units in the county as of July 1, 2025, 77.5% of occupied homes are owner-occupied, and 29.7% of residents are 65 or older (U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts).

How It Works: One Call, Many Companies Side by Side
Three steps, and you only handle the first.
Step 1: Tell Us Once
A short form or a quick call. Address, vehicles, drivers, current declarations page if you have one.
Step 2: The Market Gets Shopped
A licensed agent compares carriers that actually write in Marion County right now. Carrier appetite changes often, which is exactly why a single-carrier quote tells you so little.
Step 3: You Choose
You see the options side by side, with the differences explained. Buy, or do not. There is no obligation and nothing is binding until a policy is issued.

Citizens Is Not the Only Answer
Before you land at Citizens, the private market is worth checking properly. Citizens is Florida's state-created insurer of last resort, and its depopulation program moves policies to private insurers approved by the Office of Insurance Regulation. If you receive a takeout offer and are eligible to stay, you must respond by the stated deadline or the policy transfers. The price test that decides whether you can stay with Citizens is worth reading before you reply.
Ocala Insurance Questions
Is home insurance more expensive in Ocala than the rest of Florida?
There is no honest single answer, because every quote depends on the specific house. What typically moves a quote in Ocala is roof age, the year the house was built, and whether the parcel has sinkhole history. Two houses on the same street can quote very differently on roof age alone.
Do I need sinkhole coverage in Marion County?
Sinkhole loss coverage is optional, and whether it is worth buying depends on the parcel and the budget. What every authorized insurer must provide is catastrophic ground cover collapse coverage. The two are very different, and it is easy to assume you have the broader one when you hold the narrow one. Send a declarations page and you will get a straight answer.
Can you help if I have been dropped or non-renewed?
Yes. What matters is the reason behind the letter: roof age, claim history, or a carrier leaving a segment entirely. Each one points to a different set of carriers.
Do you work with drivers who need an SR-22 or FR-44?
Yes. Neither one is a type of insurance. An SR-22 is an insurance filing certifying bodily injury and property damage liability to meet the state's reinstatement requirements, and your reinstatement notice tells you whether you need one. An FR-44 is the filing after a DUI conviction, at the limits set by s. 324.023, Fla. Stat.: $100,000 per person and $300,000 per crash in bodily injury and $50,000 in property damage. Not every carrier offers these filings, which is why the carrier you are shown matters. Which of the two filings your notice calls for is the first thing to check.
What does this site cost me?
Nothing. A quote is free and carries no obligation. If you buy a policy, the carrier pays the agent a commission.
Will you sell my details to other agents?
No. What you send goes to a licensed Florida agent for the purpose of quoting your coverage. It is not resold as a lead. The privacy policy puts that in writing.

Read the details: why one call beats calling around
You stop paying whatever one company sends at renewal and see what the others would charge in Marion County. An agency tied to a single company can only show you that company's price. The agent behind this site is independent, with many companies to compare. Call five agencies and you repeat your address, your drivers and your claims history five times; here you say it once. Asking changes nothing on your current policy.
